What it does

Never let a broken main branch go unowned. When checks fail on the main branch of one of your repositories, the Broken Build Follow-up finds out which workflow failed and on which commit, then looks through your open issues. If nobody is tracking it yet, it writes a tracking issue with the failing workflow, the commit, a link to the run and the next steps. If an issue is already open for it, it adds a short note that it failed again, at most once a day, instead of opening another. It looks at main and master unless you choose other branches, and at every repository unless you pick some. Nothing is opened or posted until you approve it.

  • Gets to work as soon as checks fail on your main branch
  • A tracking issue with the commit, the failing workflow and a link to the run
  • Looks through your open issues first and adds to the one already open, at most once a day
  • Main and master unless you choose other branches
  • Nothing is opened or posted until you approve it
Early access

Early access means it works and we use it ourselves every day. It's still moving, so bits of it will change. When it lets you down, tell us — that's the deal.

What it needs

It needs one app from each line below, connected before you add it, because it starts watching as soon as it's set up.

How it runs

When it runs

Whenever this happens: Checks come back red on a commit — all of them at once, so one push tells you once. You can change what it waits for.

Where results go

In your apps

It asks before it sends, posts or changes anything in your apps. When it suggests several things, you choose which go ahead.
